What is the Trinity Matriculation?
The Trinity Matriculation is two exams which are offered by TCD in the subjects of Bible Studies and Geology. Students can take one or both exams.
Can I use the Trinity Matriculation towards my Leaving Cert points?
Yes! The Matriculation is a great way of acquiring points. However, while these subjects can be counted as part of your top six subjects, they can only be counted towards going to Trinity College.
When is the Trinity Matriculation?
The Trinity Matriculation usually takes place in the second week of the Easter holidays.
When do I sign up for the Trinity Matriculation?
Sign up for the Trinity Matriculation usually opens soon after Christmas with the deadline for application being early March. We will link the application form here when it becomes available.
Are the Trinity Matriculation subjects difficult?
Both Bible Studies and Geology are based of the material which is studied in first year of the respective subjects in Trinity. However, compared to other subjects taken at leaving cert level Bible Studies and Geology offer much shorter courses which require less time to study.
When are the results published for the Trinity Matriculation?
Results are usually published in mid-May which allows you to find out the results before you start sitting the Leaving Cert exams.
Is it possible to get a tutor for the Trinity Matriculation?
While many schools operate an internal tutoring service for the Matriculation, Bible Studies and Geology tutors can be organised through the tutor section of our website.
How is the Trinity Matriculation graded?
Both exams are graded as an equal of a higher level leaving cert subject i.e. H1, H2, H3… The exams are marked in conjunction with Trinity Access Program grading which means that candidates begin with full marks.
How much does the Trinity Matriculation cost?
